Welcome to the Lake Country Lacrosse Girls' Programs

The LCL organization is committed to providing high-quality and affordable opportunities for girls to learn and play the game of lacrosse. Our primary objective is to provide a safe, positive and fun environment in which girls can:

  • learn the game of lacrosse
  • develop their movement ABCs-agility, balance, coordination and speed
  • learn life skills and empowerment through participation in sport
  • and to honor the game of lacrosse through good sportsmanship

Spring Season Programs

Registration for the Spring season opens in the Fall of the preceding year and runs thru March.

The season runs from February through June; with games starting in April. 

Girls in grades 1 - 8 are eligible to participate in these programs.

  • Girls in grades 1 and 2 will be grouped together at the LIL SCOOPER (8U) level; more information
  • Girls in grades 3 and 4 will be grouped together at the BANTAM (10U) level; more information
  • Girls in grades 5 and 6 will be grouped together at the JUNIOR (12U) level; more information
  • Girls in grades 7 and 8 will be grouped together at the SENIOR (14U) level; more information here

League 

The Spring Season teams participate as members of MAYLA which is a spring recreation league.

Laxtravaganza Festival (back for 2022)

As a member of MAYLA, Lake Country also participates in the annual Laxtravaganza festival. Laxtravaganza is a two day event held near the end of the season where all of the MAYLA teams play each in a round robin fashion for the joy and honor of the game.

Practices and Games

  • Practices are tentatively scheduled on Tue-Thru weekdays in the afternoon after 5:30 pm.

  • The girls will be at Divine Redeemer Lutheran School  for outdoor practice during the season. 

  • Home games will be played at Centennial Park 

  • Games are normally scheduled on Saturdays and Sundays (excluding Mother's Day and Memorial Day weekend).

  • Saturday games are historically scheduled for the morning to early afternoon

  • Sunday games are historically scheduled for the late morning to afternoon

  • Players evaluations will be at begining of February in order to establish balanced teams for the season.

  • Learn to play and introductory skills workouts will be starting in February.

Lil' Scooper Program

The Lil Scoopers is a developmental program for girls in 1st and 2nd grade based on US Lacrosse LADM model intended to develop their movement ABCs-agility, balance, coordination and speed—and learn the basics of the game while emphasizing fun, cooperation, and maximum touches with the ball. 

  • Practice will be one day a week, practices will include intra program scrimmages
  • Girls will receive a reversible practice pinnie
  • Required equipment:
    • Crosse (stick)
    • Protective eyewear (goggles)
    • Mouthguard

Bantam Program

The Bantam level is the first introduction to competitive game play, the program is still focused on continued development of fundamental stick skills, athletic aptitude, and sportsmanship. In addition the athletes will be introduced to team concepts

  • Practice will be twice a week (Tuesday, Thursday), specific practice time will be determined based on coach availability 
  • Uniform jersey will be issued for the season
  • Required equipment:
    • Crosse (stick)
    • Protective eyewear (goggles)
    • Mouthguard
    • Uniform shorts and socks and a practice pinnie (purchase required)
  • Recommended equipment:
    • Plain black base/under garments for cold weather
    • Cleats

Junior Program

The Junior level is the first introduction to full size field play, the program remains focused on continued development of fundamental stick skills, athletic aptitude, and sportsmanship. In addition the athletes will be introduced to team concepts. This level will also participate in at least one tournament.

  • Practice will be three times a week (Tuesday-Thursday), specific practice time will be determined based on coach availability
  • Required equipment:
    • Crosse (stick)
    • Protective eyewear (goggles)
    • Mouthguard
    • Uniform jersey, shorts and socks and a practice pinnie (purchase required)
  • Recommended equipment:
    • Plain black base/under garments for cold weather
    • Cleats

Senior Program
